To ensure high protection of crops from one of the most common fungal diseases, a substance created from environmentally friendly fungicides will allow. Its composition and technology of application were derived by a group of researchers from Stavropol State Agrarian University.
The new drug is based on special chemical compounds with high antifungal properties: cresoxtim-methyl, diphenoconazole and epoxiconazole. Due to the proportional combination of these drugs and the use of the most suitable spraying technology, scientists were able to reduce the degree of development of fungi of the genus Septoria by almost 2 times and reduce the prevalence of the disease by 50%. Such results were shown by a series of scientific experiments conducted in the farms of the Stavropol Territory.
— One of the main priorities of our scientists is the development of ecological biotechnologies that allow us to consistently maintain a high level of food security and the continuous operation of agribusiness in any conditions, — said the Rector of the SSAU Vladimir Sitnikov.
A new development by scientists of Stavropol State Agrarian University has already confirmed its high efficiency in the field. The advantages noted by the participants of the experiments also included economy: the consumption of the invented working solution is only 0.8 liters per hectare, which is 10 times less than the average required volume.
For reference:
According to the Federal State Budgetary Institution «Rosselkhoznadzor» in 2022 in the Russian Federation, septoria on winter grain crops was detected on an area of 4734.62 thousand hectares (in 2021 — 2431.18 thousand hectares). On spring cereals, the disease was detected on an area of 1299.41 thousand hectares (in 2021 — 1355.92 thousand hectares).
