Stavropol State Agrarian University hosted a meeting of the Academic Council, the key topic of which was the participation of SSAU in large-scale federal initiatives defining the strategy for the development of Russian science and higher education. A pilot project on the transition to a new model of higher education, one of the most important government reforms aimed at creating a modern training system for the economy of the future, took central place on the agenda.

Today, Stavropol State Agrarian University is confidently among the leading universities in the country implementing key federal projects, including Priority 2030, Personnel in Agriculture, NCMU programs, the Technologies project and a pilot project to change the levels of vocational education. It is participation in this strategic initiative that confirms the high level of government confidence in the university and its willingness to act as a platform for systemic transformations in Russian higher education.

A special emphasis during the meeting was placed on the fact that SSAU's participation in the pilot project is a profound transformation of all key university processes: educational policy, research, career guidance and interaction with industrial partners. We are talking about creating a fundamentally new educational environment focused on the needs of the real sector of the economy, technological leadership and the training of a new generation of specialists. Within the framework of the new model of higher education, the university builds modern approaches to personnel training for the agro-industrial complex, strengthens practice-oriented training, expands interaction with employers and forms long-term educational trajectories for students. Today, the preparation for the admission campaign is carried out in close cooperation with municipalities and enterprises in the region, which allows students to consciously choose a profession and see real prospects for development in the agricultural sector.

One of the main issues of the meeting was the development of a modern scientific and educational environment in the context of the implementation of federal projects. Since 2021, the amount of funds raised for the development of the university has amounted to about 6.2 billion rubles. The funding is aimed at modernizing the infrastructure, creating modern laboratories, supporting young scientists, developing research areas and improving the quality of the educational process.

Thanks to the implementation of federal programs, the university has significantly strengthened its position as a federal-level scientific and educational center. Significant funds were allocated to support staff and develop scientific schools, create conditions for international and interdepartmental cooperation, as well as increase the attractiveness of the university for talented youth.

During the meeting, presentations were made by the heads of key areas dedicated to the development of science, educational activities and the system of additional professional education. Special attention was paid to the introduction of innovative technologies into the educational process, the development of student and postgraduate associations, as well as the training of highly qualified specialists for priority sectors of the economy.

Traditionally, the meeting of the Academic Council was accompanied by a solemn awarding ceremony for university staff and scientists who have made a significant contribution to the development of science and education. Awards, diplomas, certificates and prizes were given to teachers, doctoral students and scientific supervisors, whose achievements strengthen the university's authority at the federal level.
