A scientific and practical conference «Our Recent Past: Modern Trends in Soviet History and Historical Memory» was held at the Business Boiling Point.
The plenary session was attended by scientists from Donetsk State University, North Caucasus Federal University and Stavropol State Agrarian University. In particular, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Yevgeny Tufanov made a report «On the issue of the formation of the national personnel policy of the party administrative apparatus of 1921-1930. (based on the materials of party congresses, conferences, plenums)».
The event continued with the work of two sections: «Soviet history and historical memory in modern Russian society: all-Russian and local contexts» and «Socio-cultural problems of Soviet society at different stages of its history». A collection of scientific publications will be published at the end of the conference.
— Today, the discussion of topical issues of history, politics and culture in the Soviet and post-Soviet periods, constructive dialogue between representatives of social sciences and humanities aimed at overcoming the politicization of historical science, the development of research concepts and points of view that contribute to the preservation of tolerance, ethnic and political harmony in the Soviet and post-Soviet period of Russia's development continue to be one of the most important tasks, — said the Vice-rector for Academic Affairs, Doctor of Economics, Professor Igor Sklyarov.
