2026/10/30

At Stavropol State Agrarian University, a series of preventive meetings was held for first‑year students with representatives of the city administration, law enforcement agencies, and the financial sector. The events focused on issues related to ensuring public safety, law and order, combating extremism, road safety, and protection against fraudulent activities.Qualified specialists from various departments took part in the dialogue with the students. The first‑year students were addressed by Diana Nazarova, deputy head of the department for issues of national and cultural development at the Stavropol administration; Sergey Sotnikov, head of the department for maintaining public order at the city police department; Alexander Khvostov, commander of a separate battalion of the traffic police department; Alexander Muravyov, an employee of the Center for Countering Extremism; Anastasia Kazachenko, senior operative officer of the unit for monitoring drug trafficking; and Dmitry Gich, head of the sector for countering fraudulent operations at the Stavropol branch of Sberbank.

The experts thoroughly examined the real threats that young people may face in modern society and presented practical recommendations for preventing them. Particular attention was paid to the legal aspects of behavior in public places, compliance with traffic rules, preventing young people from being drawn into destructive and extremist organizations, as well as the risks associated with the illegal trafficking of prohibited substances. In the financial security section, students were explained common remote fraud schemes, social engineering methods, and the rules for using banking services safely.

This format of direct communication helps first‑year students, many of whom have come to study from other settlements, to adapt more quickly to life in the regional centre, to develop a conscious attitude towards personal safety and legal norms, and to learn the procedures to follow and the contacts of emergency services in non‑standard situations.

«The safety and well‑being of our students are the university’s unconditional priority. Many first‑year students are just starting their independent lives, so our task is to help them adapt confidently to the new environment, instil a legal culture and an understanding of personal responsibility for their actions.» «An open dialogue with representatives of law enforcement agencies, municipal authorities, and the banking sector provides students with clear guidelines that help them protect themselves from manipulation and rash actions, ” said Vladimir Sitnikov, rector of Stavropol State Agrarian University.

Stavropol State Agrarian University is continuously working to provide legal education to students and prevent offenses. Regular meetings with representatives of relevant departments help to increase young people’s civic responsibility, strengthen law and order, and facilitate the successful integration of first‑year students into the university community.
