Students of Stavropol State Agrarian University became prize-winners of the largest project in Russia for IT specialists — hackathon 

«Digital breakthrough. Season: Artificial Intelligence». The project is aimed at finding, developing and supporting talented specialists in creating products and services using AI technologies. Within the framework of the hackathon, development specialists jointly solve the business problem and (or) social problem posed by the organizers in the field of artificial intelligence for a limited time. 

This year, the North Caucasus Federal University became one of the venues for the district stage of the All-Russian Hackathon. «Digital Breakthrough» in Stavropol gathered more than a hundred participants who performed tasks for 48 hours from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, the national video hosting RUTUBE, the KOBLiK GROUP of companies, as well as JSC Russian Railways together with the Industry Center for the Development and Implementation of Information Systems. The developers included the teams of the student programmers club of StGAU: «ITres», «ITres Junior», «ITres Babies». 

As part of the competition, students of Stavropol State Agrarian University tested their competencies by completing tasks from partners. In particular, young developers carried out monitoring of hazardous areas at an industrial enterprise, automatic duplication of videos into another language, as well as assessment of the working day using the capabilities of artificial intelligence. 

According to the results of the hackathon, the StGAU «ITres Junior» team consisting of students Valentina Lepikhina, Alexander Babakin, David Arushanyan and Maxim Kapninov were awarded a diploma of the II degree. 

Also, within the framework of the project, an educational program dedicated to the needs, technologies and implementation of artificial intelligence was held for the participants.
