The IPC European Open Cup, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, has ended in Moscow.
About 200 athletes from Pakistan, Belarus, Estonia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Russia took part in the competition.
SSAU students won five gold medals at the competitions: Lika Telegina became the winner in the category up to 67.5 kg, Kira Prilepskikh — up to 75 kg, Savely Nazarko — in the open category up to 75 kg, Eduard Ambartsumyan — 82.5 kg, Ivan Davydov — 110 kg. Nina Mukhortova, the athletes' coach and senior lecturer at the Department of Physical Education and Sports, took the lead in the 67.5 kg open bench press category.
Following the results of their performances at the European Cup, athletes from Stavropol State Agrarian University joined the Russian junior national team and will represent the country at the Asian Open Championship. The competition will be held in August in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal.
