The open weightlifting championship in the senior age groups was held in Moscow. More than 100 weightlifters from different regions of the country took part in the competition.

Nina Mukhortova, senior lecturer at the Department of Physical Education and Sports at SSAU, became the absolute champion of the tournament in the 64 kg weight category with a combined total of 100 kg.
