Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor Georgy Dorozhko celebrates his birthday today.

Georgy Romanovich began his career at the university in 1960, when he entered the first year of the Faculty of Agronomy. He continued his postgraduate studies at the Department of Phytopathology and defended his thesis. He worked as an assistant, and in 1977 received the academic title of associate professor and became head of the Department of Chemical Plant Protection Products. In 1990, he defended his doctoral thesis and a year later became head of the Department of Agriculture.

Over the years of hard scientific and teaching work, Georgy Dorozhko has created a large scientific school, published about 300 scientific papers, more than 50 teaching aids, 4 monographs. His selfless work was awarded with many awards, including the medal «The Best Teacher of Russia» and the title «Honorary Worker of the agro-industrial complex of Russia».

Under the leadership of Georgy Romanovich, 17 candidates and three doctors of sciences defended themselves. He became a diploma and scientific supervisor for the rector of Stavropol State University. Vladimir Sitnikov congratulated the mentor on this festive day and expressed gratitude for the great contribution to agricultural science from the entire university.
