SSAU hosted a methodological seminar-meeting on the implementation of a pilot project for a new model of higher education
Stavropol State Agrarian University hosted a methodological seminar-meeting for heads of educational programs and structural divisions dedicated to the implementation of a pilot project on the transition to a new model of higher education.
The event was aimed at explaining the key changes inherent in the new architecture of higher education, as well as at developing common approaches to the transformation of educational programs at the university.
Svetlana Maksimovich, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, made a presentation on «SSAU participation in the pilot project: current status and operational tasks.» During the presentation, the federal requirements for the project participants were presented, as well as the university's priority areas of work.
It was noted that in 2026, about 35% of the training areas will be involved in the implementation of the pilot project. These include key agricultural specialties: agronomy, horticulture, agroengineering, veterinary medicine, animal husbandry, technology of production and processing of agricultural products, and others. In 2027, it is planned to further expand the list of educational programs.
During the seminar, special attention was paid to the transformation of the structure of educational programs of basic higher education. Among the key approaches are:
strengthening practice-oriented learning through distributed practices throughout the learning period;
the introduction of microqualifications and working professions from the very first year;
use of variable forms of final assessment (including startups, industrial cases and research projects);
development of individual educational trajectories of students;
the introduction of cross-cutting disciplines aimed at the formation of scientific and innovative thinking.
A separate discussion block was devoted to building a system of interaction with enterprises of the agro-industrial complex. The new model assumes the participation of industrial partners at all stages of the implementation of educational programs — from designing the content to conducting practical training, state final certification and subsequent employment of graduates.
The priorities also include the development of an educational and laboratory base in cooperation with business, the introduction of modern educational technologies and digital tools, as well as taking into account the regional specifics of agricultural production in the formation of educational modules.
The university emphasizes that the transition to a new model of higher education will improve the quality of training specialists for the agro-industrial complex, shorten the time for their adaptation to production and ensure closer integration of education, science and industry.
The methodological seminar became part of the systematic work of the SSAU on the implementation of the pilot project and preparation for the phased transition to a new model of higher education.
