StGAU researchers together with colleagues from NCFU have developed a new therapeutic complex consisting of chitosan and ricobendazole to combat animal parasitosis.

Testing has shown that the therapeutic effectiveness of the chitosan-ricobendazole complex is not inferior to analogues when reducing the dose of the active substance by half. It has been established that the use of the developed drug makes it possible to effectively free the animal body from parasites. This development opens up prospects for more effective treatment of parasitic infections in animals. The head of the Department of Therapy and Pharmacology, Professor Vladimir Orobets and researcher at the Department of Therapy and Pharmacology Elena Kastarnova worked on the study. 

The results of the study are published in the highly rated international journal International Journal of Biological Macromolecules.
