All 615 students enrolled in the «Digital Department» of Stavropol State Agrarian University successfully passed the entrance assessment on IT competencies. The testing was conducted in an online format using the distance learning system of Innopolis University. 

Assessment is a mandatory component of training and a prerequisite for obtaining a diploma of professional retraining. According to the test results, all students of the «Digital Department» of the SSAU showed the necessary level of basic competencies for further acquisition of new qualifications in the field of information technology.

At the end of the training, students will also have to pass the final test, which will allow them to see progress in mastering digital competencies — knowledge of programming and profiling competencies for each of the five educational programs. In the 2023-2024 academic year, training at the «Digital Department» of StGAU is conducted under the programs «Digital Marketing»; «Software application development»; «Artificial Intelligence systems in agriculture»; «Engineering design and programming»; «Geoinformation technologies and web programming for agribusiness».

Digital Departments» is a joint project of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation aimed at the formation of competencies, acquisition of new qualifications in the field of information technology. In 2022, StGAU became one of the pilot universities in which «Digital departments» were launched. The main advantages of the project: free training, acquisition of new qualifications in the IT field and a practice-oriented approach. The first set of students was 365 people.
