The head of Stavropol, Ivan Ulyanchenko, met with the rector of StGAU, Vladimir Sitnikov, and the rector of StSMU, Viktor Mazharov, at which they discussed the reconstruction of the underpass across Mira Street.
This summer, the transition was included in the list of projects of the Governor's program to support local initiatives of the Stavropol Territory. The leadership of the Agricultural and Medical Universities urged students to vote for the improvement of the facility. As a result, the project of reconstruction of the underpass has collected more than 5,000 votes and will be implemented first.
— I think that we have the best young people in the city, I treat them with great respect and try to help in every way so that students have the opportunity to realize their abilities, find themselves in society. It will take some time, and the current students will manage the city, the region and the country. Therefore, what we will bring up, Russia will have such a future, — said the head of Stavropol Ivan Ulyanchenko.
The underpass is located between Stavropol Agrarian and Medical Universities. Thousands of students and residents of the city pass through it every day, exposing themselves to danger when descending on broken tiles.
— I want to express my gratitude to the students of two universities: Agricultural and Medical for their indifference and colossal response! Our facility took the first place by a huge margin, which means that the subway will soon be reconstructed. I am sure that after the renovation, our students will personally take patronage over this place and will make sure that vandals do not spoil it,» stressed the rector of the SSAU Vladimir Sitnikov.
During the working meeting, the participants assessed the current state of the transition and considered design ideas proposed by both designers and young people of Stavropol.
— We all see the state of the transition, not only is it not beautiful, but it's not safe either: it's dark, tiles are breaking. As soon as the voting was launched, we joined both universities and took the first place. We thank the administration of Stavropol for supporting our initiative and are looking forward to the reconstruction of our transition, — said Anton Yermoshkin, Chairman of the trade union committee of students of StGAU.
