The WP World Powerlifting Championship was held in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Athletes from Australia, India, Nepal, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Korea, America, Zambia, Palestine, the United Arab Emirates, New Zealand, Mongolia, Uganda, Greece, Malaysia, China, Nauru and others took part. The Russian national team was represented by 7 people, including Nina Mukhortova, senior lecturer at the Department of Physical Education and Sports at SSAU. In the Bench Press category, she won in the open category up to 64 kilograms with a score of 75 kg in the 55-59 age category and became the absolute winner of the 2025 World Championship.
