MGIMO undergraduates at Stavropol State Agrarian University

On May 12, 2026, undergraduates of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) studying under the World Agricultural Markets program began field training under an additional professional development program in the form of an internship «Export activities of agricultural enterprises: status and prospects.» The educational module for 27 students will be held at Stavropol State Agrarian University and will last a week. As part of the internship, participants will get acquainted with the leading agricultural enterprises of the region operating in the field of grain production, greenhouse vegetables, animal husbandry, poultry farming and horticulture.

The final stage of the module will be the defense of cases prepared by undergraduates, which is scheduled for May 16, 2026. The assignment topics were developed by the teachers of Stavropol State Agrarian University.

The theoretical part of the training is conducted in the classrooms of the university. Director of the Institute of Agrobiology and Natural Resources, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor Alexander Yesaulko introduced students to modern technologies in crop production. Anna Shutko, Professor, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Head of the Laboratory of Molecular Genetic Research, spoke about analytical and laboratory methods in this field. In addition, the MGIMO guests visited the University's Fruit and Berry Crop Nursery Center.

One of the significant events of the first day was a meeting with Konstantin Ishkov, Minister of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory, who shared information on key areas of development of the agro-industrial complex in the region and the specifics of agricultural products entering international markets.

Practical classes will be held at the enterprises participating in the processing of products. During the internship, students will visit the dairy farm of Chapaevsky LLC, study the processes of growing vegetables in greenhouse complexes of Sunny Dar LLC.

In the city of Nevinnomyssk, participants will get acquainted with modern aspects of the foreign economic activity of agricultural enterprises using the example of LLC Resurs Group of Agricultural Enterprises, as well as visit enterprises for deep processing of products at the August combine and the fruit association LLC Stavropol Gardens, where they will learn about the technologies of growing and processing grapes.

The training of MGIMO undergraduates under the advanced training program at Stavropol State Agrarian University will end on May 17.

Cooperation between MGIMO and Stavropol Agrarian University has been ongoing since 2019. During this time, 138 people have been trained in programs related to the agro-industrial complex. In 2026, 27 more MGIMO undergraduates will join them.
