Vladimir Sitnikov, Rector of SSAU, took part in the thematic program «Region-2030», where Vladimir Vladimirov, Governor of the Stavropol Territory, spoke.
The head of Stavropol presented strategic guidelines for the development of the region's economy for the next decade. One of the key topics was the formation of a personnel reserve of working specialties. Today, there are only 3,000 applicants for 70,000 vacancies. The government of the region annually increases the number of budget places in the vocational education system, and thanks to this measure, last year the Stavropol State Agrarian University increased enrollment in the Institute of Secondary Vocational Education by 25%.
In addition, the development of agrotechnological classes is among the strategic directions. SSAU, together with industrial partners, has opened 114 agroclasses in 61 schools in all municipalities of the region. The University is building a continuous «school — vocational training — university — production» model, providing systematic training for the region's economy.
«We will continue to move in the fairway set by the head of the region. I am confident that through joint efforts we will ensure the sustainable development of the region's economy and create a solid human foundation for its future,» said Vladimir Sitnikov, Rector of SSAU.
