The first meeting of the University Veterans Council was held at SSAU
2025/10/16

After the reporting and election meeting of the University's veterans organization, the first, very important meeting of the University's Veterans Council was held on 10.26.25.

The main focus was on the implementation, figuratively speaking, of the «supreme legislative body» of the university's veteran organization, which is the reporting and election assembly and its decisions. N.G. Guzynin, Chairman of the SSAU Veterans Council, noted that the meeting was being held in Presidential Auditorium No. 4, where on June 18, 2014, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting of the heads of the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District on the problem of agricultural development in the North Caucasus District.

In his speech, Nikolai Gavrilovich stated that the new composition of the University Veterans Council and the heads of veteran organizations of institutes and departments should give the activities of the veteran organization more activity, initiative, creativity and responsibility — this is one of its main tasks. Guzynin N.G. highlighted the main tasks of the activity of the Councils of Veterans at all levels for 2025-2026 in the light of the decisions taken at the reporting and election meeting.

The Chairman of the University's Council of Veterans and its members discussed with great interest issues related to providing social and charitable assistance to university veterans on holidays and veterans celebrating their anniversaries in the form of gifts, guided by certain criteria.

Much attention was paid to the educational and social work of veterans among the student youth. V.I. Kurchev, a member of the Council of Veterans, made valuable suggestions on activating the activities of all the Councils of Veterans in the university structure in the field of civil and patriotic education of students. One of the important areas of work of the university's veteran organization is cultural and leisure work among veterans, which is the responsibility of V.A. Zdorenko, who actively supported important initiatives to activate this area of work. At the meeting of the Council of Veterans, the head of the IMiE veteran organization, L.N. Paltseva, proposed creating a chat of the university's veteran community to share experiences, valuable initiatives and ideas for improving the activities of not only all Councils, but also the entire university veteran organization.

All members of the University's Council of Veterans agreed on the need to quantify the growth of its veteran organization, in particular by reducing the age limit for admission of university veterans — women from 55 years old; men from 60 years old, having both of those with work experience in the university — 20 years or more. In this regard, the Council members emphasized the important need to combine the quantitative growth of the ranks of the veteran organization with an increase in its qualitative level of activity.
