At the basic department of private animal Husbandry, breeding and breeding of Animals of the Institute of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology, training was held on an additional professional training program «Organization of the work of the assistant service as part of the laboratory of milk quality control, the procedure for laboratory accreditation».

The assistant service of the Stavropol State Agrarian University received the status of a breeding farm by Order of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation last year. It provides services in the field of accounting, control, assessment of the level of productivity and product quality, assessment of the breeding value of animals. The service cooperates with tribal and commodity agricultural organizations, peasant farms and farms of individual entrepreneurs. The collection of accounting data, which is handled by the assistant service, in livestock breeding contributes to the progressive movement towards harmonization of the Russian regulatory framework with the ICAR methodology, entry into the international market of trade in breeding genetic resources and the formation of export-oriented dairy cattle breeding.

The participants were told in detail the stages of creating a Management Center for highly productive genetic resources of animal husbandry, laboratories for «Milk quality control» and «Molecular genetic expertise». They also learned about the tasks of laboratory researchers and the work of the assistant service of the Stavropol State Agrarian University in the leading breeding enterprises of the Stavropol Territory. The issues related to specialized Russian software products were studied, in particular the Selex information system, which allows you to manage breeding resources, production periods, reduce time spent on monitoring and reporting on various sex and age groups of animals and increase the number of projects of undergraduates within the framework of providing accompanied resources.

At the end of the training, all students were issued certificates of advanced training. The classes were conducted by Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor Sergey Oleinik, Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, Associate Professor Alexey Pokotilo and Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Evgeny Chernobai.
