The use of a new organomineral substance will increase the yield of winter wheat by up to 12%.
A new environmentally friendly fertilizer for grain crops was developed by a group of scientists from Stavropol State Agrarian University. The substance is based on lowland peat, mineral additives in the form of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and sulfur, as well as enriched metal ions. Due to the balanced composition, the fertilizer can reduce the impact on the soil several times, while eliminating the deficiency of trace elements useful for fertility.
The key feature of the scientists' development is the impact on the yield and quality characteristics of grain crops. In particular, the use of fertilizers on winter wheat crops increases yields from 7 to 12%, and the gluten content is up to 2,5%.
— Today, our scientists pay great attention to research and development related to biologized technologies in agriculture. The development of this area will largely affect the effectiveness and increase the profitability of crop production in the near future, — said Vladimir Sitnikov, Rector of StGAU.
The approbation of the new peat fertilizer was carried out on the basis of the educational and experimental station of the university.
