The additional professional development program «Project-Based Activities in Agro-Technology Classes: From Idea to Practical Results» will begin on March 16, 2026. The program was developed and is being offered online by the Russian State Agrarian University — Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy and Stavropol State Agrarian University and is designed for teachers at general education institutions across the Russian Federation.
The goal of the program is to assist teachers in developing and implementing projects aimed at developing agro-technological classes in schools. Participants will receive methodological and practical tools for organizing curricular and extracurricular activities focused on the specialized training of schoolchildren.
The total program duration is 32 academic hours. The training will be conducted in person with the use of distance learning technologies and will run until April 29, 2026. The final stage will be a final assessment, during which participants will present and defend their own educational and developmental projects for agro-technological classes at their schools. Participation in the program is free for teachers from rural general education organizations.
The program is designed to support teachers of biology, physics, chemistry, and mathematics working in specialized agricultural technology classes. The knowledge and methodological approaches gained during the training will enable the integration of agricultural topics into the teaching of basic school subjects and foster students' lasting interest in modern aspects of the agro-industrial complex.
Teacher training is being implemented as part of the «Agroclass» educational initiative, which aims to provide early career guidance to schoolchildren and introduce them to modern agricultural technologies in the general education system.
A total of 168 teachers will be trained in the North Caucasus Federal District. These include 117 teachers from schools in 26 rural municipalities in Stavropol Krai and 51 teachers from educational institutions in ten districts of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic. The practical portion of the program is being implemented with the participation of the Stavropol State Agrarian University.
The program is a continuation of the collaboration between the two universities within the framework of developing a network of agricultural technology classes.
