The International Forum «Preservation of Historical Memory as a strategic priority of Russian Policy and the basis of International Communications» was held in Stavropol.
The three-day forum was held under the auspices of the Historical Memory party project at the site of the Regional Government. The purpose of the event is to create conditions for a broad scientific and public dialogue, exchange of experience and research results, consolidate researchers aimed at preserving the collective memory of peoples, establish contacts between scientific schools and public organizations in Russia and abroad, and develop the patriotic consciousness of Russian youth based on heroic examples of world and national history.
Leading scientists and students of Stavropol State Agrarian University spoke at the forum:
Sergey Bobryshov, head of the section «Conceptual approaches to Memory Policy in Russia, intercultural dialogue in preserving the common cultural and historical heritage of peoples»;
Evgeny Tufanov, Head of the Department of Philosophy and History, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Head of the section «Problems of falsification of history, manifestations of Nazism, extremism and Russophobia at the present stage of world history development», report on the topic «On the formation and development of Ukrainian nationalism»;
Valeria Novak, lecturer at the Institute of Military Education, head of the section «Historical memory of generations about the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War», report on «Tools for reviving history: from the experience of implementing practices of patriotic education of youth based on military history» in the section «Effective practices of military historical education and patriotic education of youth»;
Oksana Ryakhovskaya, Vice–Rector for Secondary Vocational Education, Head of the section «Historical memory of generations about the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War»;
Kirill Krivorotenko, a student at the Institute of Vocational Education and Science, and Valeria Novak, a researcher, presented a report on «Youth at the crossroads: why are new generations in Europe and Russia vulnerable to radical ideas?»;
Anna Ryasova, a student at the Institute of Vocational Education and Science, and Yulia Borozdina, a researcher, presented a report on «The Museum as an educator: using cultural heritage for the spiritual and moral development of schoolchildren»;
Semyon Simirenko, a student at the Institute of Military Education, and Eleonora Dzhukkaeva, a researcher, presented a report on the topic «The War on Monuments. The War on Memory: the struggle for History as a battlefield for the Future»;
Rasul Uzdenov, a student at the Institute of Vocational Education and Science, and Valeria Novak, a researcher, presented a report on the topic «Integration of educational and cultural resources in the digital project „Interactive Memory Map of the Great Patriotic War: Heroes of Karachay-Cherkessia — stars on the maps of history“;
Alina Unarokova, a student at the SPO Institute, and Eleonora Dzhukkaeva, a researcher, «From Fakes to facts: How public organizations and the media become a human shield of Russia's historical memory.»
