For students of the Institute of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology, a field lesson was held in the SEC «Plemzavod The Second Five-year Plan» of the Ipatovsky city district.

The students consolidated their competencies in the disciplines of «Sheep and goat breeding», «Breeding and genetic methods for creating new breeds and lines of farm animals». Future veterinarians have mastered the techniques of artificial insemination in sheep breeding, conducted an assessment of the breeding value of sheep-producers of the Dzhalginsky merino breed.

Dmitry Zlenko, a livestock breeder at the collective farm, spoke about the Dzhalginsky merino breed and the lines that exist in the breed. A practical lesson in the form of a master class was organized at the artificial insemination center under the guidance of chief livestock technician Mukhtar Idrisov, where students mastered the technique of the visocervical method of insemination of sheep. The classes were conducted by the head of the basic Department of private Animal Husbandry, Breeding and breeding of animals, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Evgeny Chernobai.
