The results of the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025 international ranking, assessing the contribution of universities to achieving sustainable development goals, have been published.
The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings has been compiled since 2019 and is one of the most comprehensive systems for assessing the contribution of universities to sustainable development. This year, 2,526 universities from 130 countries participated in the ranking. Russia is represented by 80 universities, including three agricultural ones.
Stavropol State Agrarian University entered the range of 801-1000 among all participants and the top 25 best Russian universities, including becoming the best among universities of agricultural orientation and increasing its position in comparison with 2024.
When assessing the activities of universities, the authors assessed the contribution of universities to environmental sustainability and combating climate change, accessibility and quality of education, inclusivity, economic growth, partnerships and research on sustainable development.
— As part of the implementation of scientific directions and educational programs of the university, much attention is paid to the problems of sustainable development of agriculture and rural areas. So, for two years in a row we have been holding an international conference dedicated to these very issues. All this is reflected in the SSAU's positioning in the ratings, which assess the contribution to sustainable development issues and the corresponding positive dynamics,» commented Rector Vladimir Sitnikov.
