Alexey Bobryshev, Vice-Rector for Research and Strategic Development, and Timur Aisanov, Head of the Scientific and Production Center for Fruit and Berry Nursery, held a meeting at Soyuzsemsvekla.

Last year, together with Soyuzsemsvekla, Stavropol State Agrarian University created a scientific and production cluster for primary seed production of sugar beet and seed propagation of commercial hybrids. A breeding program has been developed, hybrid variety tests and molecular genetic studies are regularly conducted, the laboratories of PCR analysis and the molecular genetic laboratory have been modernized, isolated breeding sites with drip irrigation have been created and specialized equipment has been purchased.

During the meeting at Soyuzsemsvekla, scientists discussed the prospects for further joint research in the field of microclonal reproduction and molecular genetics. In particular, from June 3 to 5, joint training of university and company employees on sequencing and DNA fragment analysis is planned at the university in order to solve applied and fundamental problems of genetics and molecular biology. The joint research program with the company covers the prospects up to 2029.
