The Chinese Open Powerlifting Championship according to the XPC version of the International Powerlifting Federation was held in Beijing.

Stavropol Territory was adequately represented by the powerlifters of the StGAU. Eduard Hambartsumyan, a student of the Faculty of Socio-Cultural Services and Tourism, took first place among juniors and eighth in the open category. Eduard's mentor, senior lecturer at the Department of Physical Education and Sports Nina Mukhortova became the winner in the senior age category from 55 years old and the winner of bronze in the open category. Nina Mukhortova's opponent in the open category was the famous Chinese athlete who was defeated in the bench press. The President of the XPC Federation, Robert Ulysses, noted the high athletic and tactical training of Russian athletes.
