Happy Graduate Student's Day!
2025/01/21

Postgraduate Student's Day is celebrated in the Russian scientific community on January 21. This is a celebration of young scientists studying in graduate school, scientific supervisors and employees of research institutes.

The training of scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel at Stavropol State Agrarian University is one of the university's priorities. The graduate school has 137 graduate students in six branches of science and 21 scientific specialties, which is almost 12,5% more than last year. And if we compare with 2019, then the growth is almost 60%.

More than 80 doctors and candidates of sciences, professors, and associate professors actively participate in the training of scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel. New models of postgraduate studies are actively helping to attract young people to science: network research, structured industrial, professional. The focus on the implementation of the «triple helix» mechanism provides for the interaction of universities, business and the state in the process of training personnel for high-tech sectors of the economy. As a result, the efficiency of the university's graduate school is significantly higher than in the country and amounted to 52,2% this year.

Special attention is paid to the support of young researchers at the university. On behalf of Rector Vladimir Sitnikov, 31 graduate students working in areas of priority for Russia's scientific and technological development have been receiving an increased scholarship of 60,000 rubles since last year, and a competition has been announced for a scholarship under the Postgraduate Breakthrough program.

— SSAU is rightfully proud of its graduate students who successfully develop various scientific fields, participate in international conferences and prestigious competitions, receive research grants, are fellows of the President and Government of the Russian Federation, and are prize winners. I would like to express my deep gratitude to the scientific supervisors, heads of departments and teachers involved in the implementation of postgraduate educational programs for their professionalism, desire and ability to share their knowledge and scientific inspiration! — said Vladimir Sitnikov, Rector of SSAU.
