For the first time, the interactive educational platform «City of agricultural professions „I'm in Agro“, initiated by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, is taking place in Stavropol. With the support of Governor Vladimir Vladimirovich, the exhibition unfolded on the basis of the Stavropol State Agrarian University.

The project allows children and teenagers to immerse themselves in the world of the agro-industrial complex, get acquainted with a variety of professions and modern agricultural technologies. It is planned to attract about 6,000 schoolchildren from 33 municipalities of Stavropol. The I'm in Agro playground was divided for children and teenagers from 7 to 18 years old in the following areas: «Animal husbandry», «Crop production» and «AGRICULTURE is not childish».

In the field of animal husbandry, children from 7 to 10 years old tried themselves as a zoo technician, veterinarian and angler. They learned how the farm is organized and how to properly care for animals, as well as got acquainted with dairy production and created labels for milk.

In the field of crop production, younger children learned about plant breeding, the work of agronomists and the construction of modern greenhouses. In a playful way, they received information about how food production works. Through simple routes and completing tasks, the children learned agricultural professions.

In the «Agro-industrial complex is not childish» block, children over the age of 10 learned how technologically advanced and promising modern agriculture is, and how many modern professions there are in it. They tried to control agricultural drones and modern technology, studied the soil features of different regions of Russia, and got acquainted with high-tech farms and greenhouse complexes using VR technologies.

— This interactive project really makes an impression. Each zone is decorated brightly and meaningfully, and the information is presented in a fascinating and accessible form for children. It is important that the children have been showing interest in the agricultural sector since they were at school and see prospects for further development in it. This opens up new horizons for understanding the professions of the future and helps to make an informed choice of a professional path,» said Maria Smagina, Minister of Education of the Stavropol Territory.

— Our goal is not only to introduce young people to the variety of opportunities in agriculture, but also to inspire them to choose a profession in this important and promising field. We are confident that such events contribute to the formation of interest in agricultural specialties and help develop the human resources potential of the industry,» commented Vladimir Sitnikov, Rector of SSAU.

This year, the implementation of the federal project «Personnel in agriculture» is planned in the region as part of the national project «Technological provision of food security». The main objective of this project is to provide the industry with qualified specialists to form the human resource sustainability of the country's agro-industrial complex.
