The international scientific and practical conference «Sustainable development of the agro-industrial complex: innovations, technologies, education», organized by the student scientific society of the Oryol State Agrarian University named after N.V. Parakhin, was held. The conference was led by the rector of the university, Vladimir Masalov.

The special feature of the event was the participation of representatives from different regions of Russia and foreign countries presenting research and projects aimed at improving agricultural efficiency and sustainable development of the agro-industrial sector.

The plenary session was opened by graduate student Samvel Osipyan, representing the Department of Economic Theory and Regional Economics at the Institute of Economics, Finance and Management in Agriculture of Stavropol State Agrarian University. The speaker's supervisor is Olga Kusakina, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Head of the Department of Economic Theory and Regional Economics.

The report on «Animal husbandry development in the face of modern challenges» became the first topic of discussion among the forum participants. The author presented a comprehensive analysis of the factors affecting the competitiveness of domestic livestock production, proposed measures to support the industry, including the introduction of innovative technologies and the optimization of regional development programs.
