Training of academic and teaching staff

Postgraduate study is a system for the training of highly qualified specialists of new generation, who is competitive in the intellectual labor market and has the skills of analytical and research work, is demanded by new economy, high-tech business and the real sector of economy of the region, the country and the international labor market.

According to the new Federal Law "On Education in the Russian Federation" dated December 29, 2012 № 273-FL, which came into force in September 1, 2013, postgraduate study became the third stage of higher education.

Training of academic and teaching staff of the highest qualification in the Stavropol State Agrarian University is carried out in 5 areas of training, through intramural and extramural postgraduate program, as well as by preparing theses for the degree of candidate and doctor of sciences in the form of external doctoral candidate.

Among our graduates are politicians, managers, specialists of various sectors of the economy, teachers of educational institutions, employees of commercial and state banks.

Management of training of postgraduate students is carry out by scientific supervisors, there are 81 people, including 3 academicians of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 1 corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 45 doctors and professors; 2 doctors of sciences, associate professor; 4 candidates of sciences, professors and 26 candidates of sciences, associate professors involved in the scientific management of postgraduate training by decision of the Academic Council of the University.

Admission regulations to postgraduate study

There will be accepted on a competitive basis a person with higher education (specialist’s degree, master degree) to the postgraduate study.

Admission of documents is carried out each year from June 1 to June 30.

Documents for admission to postgraduate study:

- Application addressed to the Rector;

- State-recognized degree of higher education and its annexes (specialist’s degree, master degree) or notarized copies;

- Personal record card notarized at the place of work or by Methodist of dean’s office;

- Copy of employment record notarized at the place of work (if any);

- 3 photographs (3x4 mm, black and white);

- Autobiography;

- Characteristics;

- List of scientific publications;

- Certificate of qualifying examinations for the Candidate degree if there has already been passed;

- Cardboard folder.

Applicants to postgraduate study are interviewed with the prospective scientific supervisor.

Post-graduation entry exams are held from 1 to 30 July, in accordance with state standards of higher professional education:

- speciality;

- philosophy;

- foreign language.

Admission: from September 1.

Duration of study: intramural - 3-4 years, extramural - 4-5 years (in accordance with the FSES in this field and successful completion of the training program).

For individuals who were accepted to postgraduate study, the scholarship will be paid from the date of admission, but not before the date of dismissal from the previous place of work.

Training time during the intramural postgraduate study is includes into employment period of the academic and teaching work.
